Abstract
Objective To study the biomechanical significance of hip resurfacing arthroplasty at the femoral side by finite element analysis. Methods An analysis software,ANSYS workbench version 10.0,was developed using the finite element.A three-dimensional finite element model of hip was established using MSC patran2007 software by dividing the three parts of the hip structure after resurfacing arthroplasty.The model was divided into 38 147 nodes and 187 547 units.The prosthetic model,cement shell model,and femoral part were divided into 57 446 units,28 265 units,and 101 836 units,respectively.The stress distribution at the femoral side was analyzed after hip resurfacing arthroplasty. Results The three-dimensional finite element model could clearly reflect the real hip shape after resurfacing arthroplasty and its biomechanics. Conclusion The finite element model we established in this study can provide a precise hip resurfacing prosthetic model for studying the mechanical behavior of hip after resurfacing arthroplasty and improve the design of prosthetics.
