MICROSUGERY IN LUMBAR DISCECTOMY

  • Since December 1981 to Nov. 1983, discectomy by microsugery was performed in 21 cases of lumbar disc protrution. Excellent results were observed in all patients at follow-up. During operation the in-struments were renovated. In this operation, the incision was short, the damage to the tissues minimal and the repair of wound easy. Thus, the spine can be kept stable and the patient can recover and resume work relatively rapidly. Because the operation was done under the micrescope, the lighting is good, the operation field clear, the dissecfion precise, Hemostasis cowplete and the chance for adhesion of the nerve roots is minimized. Once any adhesions of the nerve roots are discovered, neuralysis may be done immediatly. As the result, the therapeutic effect of the operation is improved.
