Concentration change of catecholamine and leucine-enkephalin in sheep cerebrospinal fluid after APA microencapsulated bovine chromaffin cells transplantation to the spinal subarachnoid space

  • Objective: To observe the change of catecholamine (CA) and leucine-enkephalin(L-EK) concentration in sheep cerebrospinal fluid after APA Microencapsulated Bovine Chromaffin Cells transplantation to the spinal subarachnoid space, to analyze the analgesic mechanism of transplantation and the immuno-protecting effect of APA-microcapsulation. Methods: To check concentration of norepinephrine(NE), epinephrine(E) and leucine-enkephalin(L-EK) in sheep cerebrospinal fluid after APA Microencapsulated Bovine Chromaffin Cells(APA-BCCs), BCCs and hollow microcapsule transplantation to the spinal subarachnoid space. Results: the concentration of E, NE and L-EK didn’t increased after transplantation of hollow microcapsule,increased after BCCs transplantation within 7 days and APA-BCCs transplantation within 28 days. Conclusion: BCCs transplantation to the spinal subarachnoid space could improve the concentration of CA and L-EK in host cerebrospinal fluid, the improvement may be related to analgesic effect, and APA-microencapsulation is good for lasting secretion of BCCs.
