Comparison of different incision closure methods for hamstring tendon harvesting sites

Objective To compare the different incision closure methods for hamstring tendon harvesting sites. Methods 136 patients were randomly divided into three groups.Their wounds on hamstring tendon harvesting sites were closed by" U" subcutaneously interrupted suture,normal interrupted suture,and intradermal suture,respectively.The first wound healing rate,time of hospital stay,and satisfactory rate were used as evaluation measures. Results The patients were followed up for 3-36 months,averaging 11.5 months.The first wound healing rate for" U" subcutaneously interrupted suture,normal interrupted suture,and intradermal suture was 100%,93.2% and 97.7%,respectively.The hospital stay time of patients in the three groups was 8.4,13.8 and 12.5 days,respectively.The satisfactory rate of patients undergoing three different wound closure procedures was 100%,77.3% and 88.6%,respectively. Conclusion " U" subcutaneously interrupted suture for wound closure of hamstring tendon harvesting sites is easy to manipulate,reduces the time of hospital stay,and has less complications.
