Independent management of department-based medical records in control of hospitalization cost of patients with medical insurance

Objective To control the hospitalization cost of patients with medical insurance by independent management of department-based medical records. Methods According to the standards established by Beijing Medical Insurance Center and the hospitalization cost of patients with medical insurance in different departments of our hospital,we worked out the cost ratio and the average self pay rate of each hospitalized patient with new management measures implemented. Results Independent management of department-based medical records could effectively decrease the growth rate of the average cost and self pay of each hospitalized patient. Conclusion Independent management of department-based medical records is an effect measure to control the hospitalization cost of patients with medical insurance.
