Abstract
Objective To study the feasibility of using absorbable mesh tourniquet in treatment of multiple abdominal traumas. Methods An experimental model of multiple abdominal traumas was established in swine. The animals were divided into two groups, one receiving damage control surgery(DCS)while the other receiving rapid surgery.Changes in alanine aminotransferase, hemoglobin and amylase levels,as well as other data such as amount of bleeding, operation time and survival rate were recorded. Results The levels of alanine aminotransferase and hemoglobin were higher, the amount of bleeding was greater, and the operation time was longer in DCS group than in rapid surgery group(P<0.05). Conclusion Absorbable mesh tourniquet can be used in routine treatment of multiple abdominal traumas.
