Effect of peritoneal macrophages on peritonitis of rats with acute pancreatitis

  • Objective: To study the effect of peritoneal macrophages(PM) on peritonitis of rats with experimental pancreatitis. Methods: A model of hemorrhagic necrotic pancreatitis was established by retrograde injection of 2% sodium deoxycholate into the common biliopancreatic duct of rats.Liposome-CL2MBP was injected into the peritoneum to exhaust PM of rats.Twenty-four male rats were randomly divided into PMs(+) group,PMs(-) group and sham operation group. The rats were killed 12h after the model was established to take samples.Pancreatic pathology was examined.Ascite lavage was quantified.Serum AMY,cytokine and NO levels were measured. Results: No significant difference was found in pancreatic pathology and serum AMY level between PMs(+) and PMs(-) groups, but a significant difference was observed in ascite lavage quantity and serum cytokine and NO level between the two groups. Conclusion: PM have important effects on peritonitis of rats with acute pancreatitis.
