Abstract
Objective:to investigate the effects of the anbolic-androgenic steroids testosterone undecanoate(TU)on the growth of human gastric cell HFI-145.Methods:MTT colorimetric assay was used to measure the pfoliferation of HFI-145cells exposed to different concentration of TU.Apoptosis and cell cycle phase distribution were measured by TUNEL and flow cytometric analysis between the 4μmo/l L TU treated group and nontreated group. Results:Compared with nontreated group,TU from 0.0004 to 0.4μmo/l L exerted no action on HFI-145cell.High concentration of TU(4μmo/l L) had an inhibitory effect on the proliferation of HFI-145cells by induced HFI-145to G0/G1arrest on a time-depending manner which peaked at 72h.The maximum inhibitory rate was 27%.Conclusion:In vitro, high concentration of TU inhibits the growth of human nomal gastric cells by arresting the cell cycle progression in G0/G1phase while pharmacological concentration of TU has no effects on HFI-cell growth.
