Female sexual infantilism-anosmia syndrome (report of two cases)

Abstract
Sexual infantilism-anosmia syndrome. called also Kallmann’s syn (?)rome (English) or e Morsier Syndrome (Frerch), is rare in female. Two-female patients are reported here with linical features of primary amenorrhea, sexual infantilism, infenility and anosmia. Exogenous yclic estrogen (E) and progesterone (P) treatment may promote the development of secondary exual characteristics and uterus. Ovulation was induced with HMG/HCG following E and P therapy or more than 1 year in one patient and a term female baby was born to her. Another is still nder E and P treatment, since her uterus is ratber small.Female fertility depends partly on terine development. If this syndrome is diagnosed early and the patient is given ubstitutional herapy of female sexual hormone during the pubertal period. she may have a normally developed terus and be able to conceive.When olfactory test is used as an indicator of sexual function or following-up prepubertal anosmia and treating them as high risk case of abnormal sexual unction, this syndrome may be detected early and treated accordingly.
