Acute aplastic anemia and toxic epidermal necrolysis caused by sensitization to aztreonam: the first report

Objective: To first report a 83-year-old man presented with Acute aplastic anemia（AAA） and toxic epidermal necrolysis（TEN） after receiving injection of aztreonam.Methods: After thoroughly analyzed the drug regimen,blood test changes before and after AAA and TEN occurance,then review the literature related with the side effects of Azetreonam.Results: Azetreonam can cause side effects on skin and hematological system with a low incidence manner.Conclusion: Azetreonam should be used with a strict indication in the treatment of system infection,especialy in old patient or patient with hemalogical disorder.（Also）,thoroughly skin obervation and blood test should be made regularly during the Azetreonam treatment.aztreonam;dermatitis,exfoliative;anemia,aplastic
