Application of performance management in army hospitals

Objective: To report the exploration and practice of performance management in hospitals of Beijing Military Area Command in order to improve their comprehensive strength,support capacity,and medical service level. Methods: Statistical data on health information of 251 Hospital（12 years）,General Hospital of Beijing Military Area Command（8 years）,and hospitals of Beijing Military Area Command（6 years） were analyzed using SPSS software 13.0.The data were expressed as mean ± s. Results: A significant difference was found in outpatients,discharged patients,medical income,total equipment value and mean hospital stay before and after performance management among the hospitals（P＜0.01,P＜0.05）. Conclusion: Performance management can significantly improve the social returns,military and economic benefits,and medical supporting capacity.
