Abstract
51 patients suffering from otosclerosis were investigated for their vestibular functions by electronystagmograph, which were compared with those in the normal sujects. It was found that the vestibular functions were impaired in the patients with otosclerosis. There was a positive correlation between the degree of vestibular hypofunction and the level of hearing loss. The vestibular functions decreased more markedly in two weeks after operation but returned to preoperative level in three months.
