Therapeutic effect of infliximab on ulcerative colitis model of rat

Objective To observe the effect of infliximab on ulcerative colitis（UC）model of rat. Methods Forty-eight healthy adult Wistar rats were selected and divided randomly into normal group,low infliximab dose group,medium infliximab dose group,high infliximab dose group mesalazine group and model group（n=8）.A UC model of rat was established by subcutaneous injection of infliximab at the doses of 2.5mg/kg,5mg/kg and 10mg/kg,respectively,on days 1 and 7.Rats in mesalazine group received intra-gastric mesalazine,100mg/kg body weight,once a day.Two weeks after establishment of the model,1.5mL blood was collected from fossa orbitalis to detect TNF-αand IL-8 by ELISA. Results The TNF-αand IL-8 expression levels were significantly decreased in the UC model. Conclusion Infliximab has rather good therapeutic effects in UC model of rats.
