Analysis of ID4 gene expression series with bioinformatics

  • Objective: To explore the expression series of ID4 gene in normal and malignant tissues or cells as a primary work for studying the regulation mechanism of ID4 gene.Methods: Bioinformatics and free open data-set such as GeneBank, SAGE, GeneCard, GEO, InterPro, ProtoNet, UniProt and BLOCKS were used to analyze the expression series of ID4 mRNA and ID4 protein. Results: ID4 gene had higher expression in a lot of malignant neuro-tissues and cells than in normal brain tissues(209/3, 148/3, 123/3, 72/3, 64/3, 45/3); higher in normal thyroid cells than in follicular thyroid carcinoma cells(172/35), in metastasis and in situ breast carcinoma higher than normal breast (34/10, 36/10), in normal lung tissues than lung adenocarcinoma(11/4). Further more, ID4 gene had expression in normal bone marrow, lymphocyte and embryonic stem cell normal cell. Conclusion: Bioinformatics can be used freely to analyze a gene’s expression series. ID4 gene has different expression in different tissues.
