Abstract
A Laser nephelometeric method to determine retinol-binding protein in serum was reported. This method is simple, rapid, and automatic Ranges of linear determination were from 9.0 to 146.0mg/L of retinol-binding protein in serum. The within-run and between-run CV were 9.1% and 11.6%, respectively. Rate of recovery was 97.5% to 109.7%. Normal value of serum retinolbinding protein concentration determined by this method was 47.6±9.0mg/L (X±SD) in healthy adults (n=41). The level of serum RBP of patients with live damage was significantly lower than that of normal subjects (P<0.001). However, the level of serum RBP of pateints with kidney damage was significantly higher than that of normal subjects (P<0.001).
