Abstract
Objective: To find out the results of gastrocnemius lengthening with aponeurosis brisement for spastic equinus in the cerebral palsies.Methods: Seventeen patients with 28 equinus in the spastic cerebral palsies,who were 6 female and 11 men with average age of 8.1 year(ranging from 3.3 to 14 year),underwent Gastrocnemius lengthening with aponeurosis brisement.Results: Follow-up after 3 years(ranging from 1 to 6 years) postop showed that all equinus got good appearance with extinction of the ankle clonus and improve function and quality of life.Conclusion: Gastrocnemius lengthening with aponeurosis brisement is one of effective methods for equinus in the spastic cerebral palsies.
