Objective: Through an analysis of the clinical assessment methods currently employed both at home and abroad， the authors sum up the major problems existing in these methods and stress the importance of research on the check-up and assessment system of clinical abilities.They also define the guiding ideology，principles and overall thinking with regard to research on the check-up and assessment system of clinical abilities.
