Effects of air temperature 28°C on the quality of blood preservation

  • Objective: While studying blood transfusion at normal temperature, we observed CPDA blood quality at 28°C.Methods: The values of ATP, FHB, GLU and pH were measured after d1.2.3.4.5.6 and 7 preservation. Results: The results showed that ATP increased at the early time and then decreased rapidly; FHB increased progressively and GLU and PH gradually decreased. All of the above indicators changed significantly after 5 days. Among them, ATP decreased to 1.5 μmol/gHb,the minimum acceptable ATP level for 70% post-transfusion survival rate of red cells stored in CPDA preservatives. Conclusion: The limit preservation time of CPDA blood at 28°C is about 5 days.
