Abstract
Objective: To establish a canine model of acute renal failure (ARF) caused by open trauma and seawater immersion that could be used for investigation. Methods: Trauma model was established with twenty grown-up healthy dogs. All dogs were subjected to open abdominal injury, and randomly separated into control group(n=10) and immersion group(n=10). Observe the numerical values of survival rate、 anus temperature、 MAP、 Scr、 BUN、 Osm、 HCO3-、electrolyte and pathologic. Results: After immersion, the dogs presented obvious hypotensive, hypothermia, hyperosmolality, and presented acid-base imbalance eventually.BUN and Scr raised up as time went by and the pathologic showed typical ARF′s change. Conclusions: The model is featured with the typical physiopathologic changes after wound and immersion.and the model is practicable, reasonable and repeatable for investigating the feature of ARF caused by open trauma and seawater immersion.
