Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation with ABO Blood Group Incompatibility in Remission Patients with Leukemia

  • Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation was performed in four leukemia patients (3 CML and 1 AML) with ABO group incompatibility between donors and recipients. Erythrocytes from donor bone marrow grafts were removed by sediment mothed mediated by hydroxyethyl starch before transplantation in two patients with major ABO blood group incompatility. in the patients with minor ABO blood group incompatibility, the plasma were removed from donor bone marrow grafts prior to transplantation.
