Abstract
Result of treatment and outcome of 45 infertile women with pituitary adenomas were reoorted.Thirty-four cases(75.6%)became pregnant after treatment 10 cases by surgery only and 24 cases by surgeryplus administration of bromocriptine. The chance rates for pregnancy in patients with lower prolactin levelsand micro-or srnall(<20 mm)adenomas were significantly higher than those with higher prolactin levels andmacroadenomas(>20 mm). Most of patients with hyperprolactinemia after operation required medical treat-ment.There is a risk of functional impairment of optic nerves during pregnancy for the patients with a largeremain tumor.Such patients should be monitored during pregnancy by measurement of prolactin levels and vi-sual field examination at monthly intervals.
