The treatment of irreparable nerve injuries by fascicular nerve crossing suture

The fascicular crossing anastomosis for the treatment of irreparable nerve injuries has been performed in our hospital since 1977.Six cases were followed for over one year with satisfactory results.It was proved that the fascicular crossing anastomosis of the sensory nerve is of value in clinical practice. In one of our patients,the result of fascicular crossing anastomosis of the long thoracic nerve was as good as that of the facial nerve.The indications,merits and demerits of this operation were briefly disscussed.
