Treatment strategy for reactive synovitis after arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament of knee joint

Objective To investigate the treatment strategy for reactive synovitis after arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament（ACL）of knee joint. Methods Clinical data of 8 cases of reactive synovitis undergoing arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in our department from March 2005 to August 2008 were analyzed.Infusion-drainage was performed in the patients and arthroscopic debridement was additionally carried out in some of them.Improvement in patients was evaluated with the Lysholm rating system,range of knee joint motion,Lanchman and anterior drawer test. Results The score for Lysholm rating system was（81.6±9.5）,the range of knee joint motion was（88.8±8.3）°,the positive rate of both Lanchman test and anterior drawer test was 12.5%. Conclusion Infusion-drainage plus arthroscopic debridement for reactive synovitis can achieve rather good results.
