Method of fluorogold retrogradation marker values the effect of optic nerve incision decompression

  • Objective: To evaluate the curative effect of a new style surgical management,optic nerve incision decompression(ONID),for optic nerve incomplete injuries by the method of fluorogold retrogradation marker. Methods: By using of reverse tweezer to clamp rat’s left optic nerve,we got mild degree of optic nerve injury model and divided into two groups randomly.After 6 hours of injury,one group was performed by ONID,the other group was performed by optic nerve sheath incision decompression(ONSD).We counted the number of RGCs in 1month,2months,3months,and 6months. Results: At months1,2,3,6 after decompression the number of RGCs in ONID group were more than that of RGCs in ONSD group significantly(P<0.05).(Conclutions:ONID) could protect the incomplete injuried optic nerve.ONID is more efficient than ONSD.
