Abstract
Objective: To explore the possible relationship of the cryopreserved platelets new characteristics and new platelet subpopulati ons generation Methods: Compared with fresh platelets, Surface functional molecules of cryopreserved platelets were analyzed by flow cytometry Results: The cryopreserved platelets were divided into three subpopulations by CD62p expression and reserve New distinct subpopulations were detected by parameters including phosphatidylserine (PS), CD62p and CD42b Th eir distinct characteristic is PS positive and CD42b significant decrease The subpopulation that is both PS and CD62p negative is more sensitive to express CD 62p than fresh platelets when they are stimulated by 2.5 mmol/L Calcium ion Conclusion: After cryopreservation, new subpopulations of platel ets generated Its surface functional molecules lost or altering decided that c ryopreserved platelers in vivo recovery decrease and immediate hemostatic functi on
