Analysis of onset symptoms and misdiagnosis in primary Sjogren′s syndrome

  • Objective: To enhance recognition of primary Sjogren's syndrome(pSS) for specialist and improve the level of early diagnosis.Methods: The clinical data of 80 cases of pSS were analyzed retrospectively.Results: The frequency onset symptoms were 37.5% with dry mouth,27.5% with dry eye,23.8% with fever,21.3% with arthralgia,13.8% with rampant dental caries,11.2% with parotid gland swollen.46 cases were misdiagnosised before final diagnosis in all pSS patients and misdiagnosis rate was 57.5%,the longest misdiagnosed time was 30 years.The most common misdiagnosis disease were rheumatoid arthritis,rheumatic arthritis,hypokalemic paralysis,chronic parotitis,hepatitis,enteronitis,et al.Conclusion: Onset symptoms of pSS were diverse.It were usually misdiagnosised and missed diagnosised.It is very critical to avoid misdiagnosed that inquest patient history carefully and check autologous antibody.
