A comparative study on vascular endothelial injuries in two types of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension in rats

  • Objective: To compare the vascular endothelial injuries between two different types of hypoxia and hypoxia with intravenous injection of FeCl 3. Methods: MPAP, CEC, NO, MDA were measured by pulmonary arterial catheter technique, electron microscopic and cell collection techniques. Results: MPAP, CEC, NO, MDA were raised gradually in the hypoxic pulmonary hypertension group (P<0.01), these in the group of hypoxia with intravenous injection of FeCl 3 were raised markedly (P<0.01).Conclusion: The vascular endothelial injuries in the type of pulmonary hypertension induced by hypoxia with intravcnous injection of FeCl3 was more severe than that of simple hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, and the new pulmonary hypertension rat model may reflect the effects of inflammatory process in the pathogenisis of pulmonary hypertension.
