A comparative study on vascular endothelial injuries in two types of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension in rats

Objective: To compare the vascular endothelial injuries between two different types of hypoxia and hypoxia with intravenous injection of FeCl 3. Methods: MPAP, CEC, NO, MDA were measured by pulmonary arterial catheter technique, electron microscopic and cell collection techniques. Results: MPAP, CEC, NO, MDA were raised gradually in the hypoxic pulmonary hypertension group (P＜0.01), these in the group of hypoxia with intravenous injection of FeCl 3 were raised markedly (P＜0.01).Conclusion: The vascular endothelial injuries in the type of pulmonary hypertension induced by hypoxia with intravcnous injection of FeCl₃ was more severe than that of simple hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, and the new pulmonary hypertension rat model may reflect the effects of inflammatory process in the pathogenisis of pulmonary hypertension.
