Robot assisted system in stereotactic neurosurgery

  • Objective:Domestic robot CRAS-BH1(computer and robot assisted surgery, type BH1) was used in assistance of stereotactic operations. Methods:The robot-aided system mainly consisted of PUMA 260 hardware platform, image guiding software and control of radioisotopic injection. Results:Several kinds of stereotactic operations were successfully performed with the robot, which included intratumoral irradiation, evacuation of haemorragia and biopsy of brain lesion.Conclusion:The design of the robot was rational; the operative integration was practical and the directive target accurate. The robot is worth of developing and extending. There would be a wide application in neurosurgery.
