Analysis of the enteral nutrition in the treatment of pseudomembranous colitis

Objective: To evaluate the enteral nutrition in the treatment of pseudomembranous colitis. Methods: From Feb. 2003 to Mar. 2006, aparting from routine therapies, 12 patients of pseudomembranous colitis were treated by using enteral nutrition according to the complications such as severe diarrhea,infection,ect. Results: All patients were survival. The diarrhea and abdominal distention were alleviated obviously after 3-10 days. Hemafecia of the patients were alleviated too. All patients re-examined were recovered according to fibrocolonoscope. Conclusions: It could shorten the course of diseases and get better prognosis in pseudomembranous colitis by using enteral nutrition.
