Value of uterine curettage for the diagnosis of perimenopausal and menopausal irregular vaginal bleeding

Abstract
Objective To explore the value of uterine curettage for the diagnosis of perimenopausal and menopausal irregular vaginal bleeding. Methods Clinical data on 6 868 out-and in-patients with perimenopausal and menopausal irregular vaginal bleeding in our hospital from June 1999 to June 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Pathological examination showed atypical hyperplasia,complex hyperplasia,inflammation,and functional uterine bleeding in 404(5.88%),220(3.20%),1 322(19.25%),and 4 702(68.46%) out of the 6 868 patients with perimenopausal and menopausal irregular vaginal bleeding. Conclusion Uterine curettage has an important value for the diagnosis of perimenopausal and menopausal irregular vaginal bleeding.
