Abstract
Statistical differences in mortality and incidence of perioperative complications between the cases with pulmonary hypertension (pH, group 1) and normal pulmonary pressure (group 2) are reported. The analysis shows: 1. pH in valvular diseases is not a contraindication or operation. 2. Severe pH influences on the perioperative hemodynamics, including low cardiac output and/or chronic heart failure. 3. Relation between pH and postoperative pulmonary complications is of no statistic significance.
