The application of chemotherapeutic pump,its complication and nursing care

Implantable drug delivery systern（chemotherapeutic pump）is a new device applied in the treat-ment of patients suffering from advanced hepatic carcinoma,The system can be implanted cornpletely underthe patient’s skin for a ling period.From Oct.1992 to Dec.1994,in our department,60 cases with prirnary ormetastatic hepatic carcinoma were implanted with this sysyem to give chemotherapy.In this article,the appli-cation of this system,its complication and the patient’s nursing care were reported.The results revealed thatthe svstem was beneficial for those inoperable patients to prolong their survival time.
