Abstract:
The cGAS-STING signaling pathway is a critical pathway in the innate immune system. It can trigger the expression of a series of inflammatory factors, including type I interferon. The release of inflammatory factors can impair beta cell function and insulin resistance, leading to changes in insulin secretion and contributing to the development of diabetes and its complications. This article reviews the structure and mechanism of the cGAS-STING signaling pathway, as well as the research progress of cGAS-STING in diabetes and its related complications, aiming to provide new insights into the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications.
