Abstract:
Ojbective: To compare the therapeutic effects of the 2μm continuous wave laser vaporesection of prostate and transurethral electrovaporization resection of prostate(TUVP) for the treatments of symtomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).
Methods: 153 cases of BPH were treated with 2μm continuous wave laser vaporesection and TUVP.All patients were followed up.
Results: international prostatic symptom score(IPSS),quality of life(QOL) and(Qmax) were significantly improved after both of the procedures and therapeutic results(P<0.05);no significant difference in the improvement of subjective symptoms and Ojbective signs had been noted with the different procedured(P>0.05).Mean operative time was(37.2±15.4)min for TUVP and(44.1±26.8)min for 2μm group,The resection time was longer for 2μm group than TUVP(P>0.05),but the interoperative bleeding and catheterization time were less in 2μm group than TUVP(P<0.05).Postoperative complications were less in 2μm group than TUVP(P<0.05).The incideased of heamatouria in TUVP group had been 41.4%.
Conclusions: 2μm continuous wave laser vaporesection has the same therapeutic effect as TUVP and less adverse side effects than TUVP;it is a newly technology for the treatment symptomatic BPH.
