Abstract:
Objective To study the clinicopathological features of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) and expression of tumorassociated proteins.
Methods Clinicopathological features of 86 ICC patients were retrospectively analyzed.Expression of tumor-associated proteins(Her-1,Her-2,P170,VEGF,mutant P53,Ki-67,and Top-Ⅱα) was detected with immunohistochemical method.Efficiency of Ki-67 and Top-Ⅱα in detecting proliferation of ICC cells was analyzed with Kappa method and correlation between expression of tumor-associated proteins and tumor differentiation was analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis method.
Results Of the 86 patients,82(95.3%) were diagnosed with moderately or poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. The positive expression rate of Her-1,Her-2,P170,VEGF,mutant P53,Ki-67 and Top-Ⅱα was 34.3%,25.0%,66.7%,80.4%,68.8%,96.2% and 88.9%,respectively.Kappa and Kruskal-Wallis methods showed a high concordance in detection of their expression(P=0.001,K=0.291).The expression of mutant P53,Ki-67 and Top-Ⅱα was not correlated with the differentiation of ICC(P=0.178).
Conclusion ICC is a highly malignant tumor. The high expression level of P170,VEGF and mutant P53 is closely related with its malignant biological nature.Ki-67 is better than Top-Ⅱα in detecting the proliferation of ICC cells.
