Abstract:
Objective To study the correlation between fatty liver(FL) and metabolic syndrome(MS) in aircrews.
Methods Body height and weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, lipid profile, and fasting blood sugar(FBS) were measured in 336 aircrews who underwent health check in our hospital.
Results The prevalence of MS including its components but not blood pressure and the body weight, waist circumference, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and the triglyceride and FBS levels were higher while the high-density lipoprotein level was lower in aircrews with FL than in those without FL(P<0.05).
Conclusion FL is closely related with MS in aircrews. Both should be prevented and treated as early as possible.
