Abstract: Objective To analyze the flight cadets eliminated due to surgical and skin diseases during their recruitment in the past two years. Methods Systematic physical examination of flight cadets was performed during their recruitment by the same group of surgeons and dermatologists according to the same criteria. Results Of the 1 501 students who underwent physical examination in 2011 for recruitment of flight cadets,57（3.80%） were eliminated due to 14 kinds of disease（24.56%）.Of the 1355 students who underwent physical examination in 2010 for recruitment of flight cadets,49（3.62%） were eliminated due to 21 kinds of disease（42.86%）.The elimination rate in 2011 and 2010 was similar（P＞0.05）.The kinds of disease for the elimination was significantly less in 2011 than in 2010（P＜0.05）. Conclusion The medical experts of air force can reach a consensus on the recruitment of flight cadets with those in different military command areas.However,they need to strengthen communications and regular training.
