Abstract:
Objective To analyze the serum levels of lipid and apolipoprotein (Apo) in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients with metabolic syndrome (MS).
Methods One hundred and nineteen CHD patients, who underwent coronary arteriography in our hospital from May 2011 to October 2012, were divided into CHD with MS group (n=53) and CHD without MS group (n=66).Risk factors for CHD were compared between the two groups.Their serum levels of lipid and Apo were measured.Characteristics of lipid prof ile in CHD patients with MS were analyzed.
Results The serum levels of TG, ApoB, ApoC
2 and ApoC
3 were signif icantly higher whereas that of HDL-C and ApoA
1 were signif icantly lower in CHD with MS group than in CHD without MS group (
P< 0.05-< 0.01).No signif icant difference was found in TC, LDL-C, ApoA
2 and ApoE between the two groups (
P> 0.05).The coronary artery lesion was severer in CHD with MS group than in CHD without MS group (
P< 0.01).
Conclusion CHD patients with MS suffer from multiple lipid metabolic disorders which can aggravate their coronary artery lesions.
