Abstract:
Objective To study the feasibility and safety of fertility- preserving surgery in female patients with early epithelial ovarian cancer.
Methods Clinical data about 35 female patients with early epithelial ovarian cancer who underwent fertilitypreserving surgery in our hospital from January 2008 to June 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.
Results Of the 35 patients with early epithelial ovarian cancer, 10 were diagnosed as stageⅠa, 14 as stageⅠb, and 11 as stageⅠc according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) criteria, 4 underwent unilateral adnexectomy and 9 received operation by stages. Five patients had relapse and 2 patients delivered 2 healthy babies after operation.
Conclusion Fertility-preserving surgery can be performed in female patients with early epithelial ovarian cancer. The patients should be closely followed up after operation.
