Abstract:
Objective To investigate the needs of learning medical English in medical staff and to make the proper,unequivocal and meticulous presentation of teaching tasks and aims by implementing the module-based teaching.
Methods The needs of learning medical English in medical staff from 10 hospitals in and outside of Beijing were investigated and quantitatively analyzed in the light of needs analysis theory.
Results The ability of medical staff from different places to learn medical English and the teaching methods and contents were different,their needs were thus often be neglected.Importance should be attached to the needs of both learners and markets.
Conclusion Medical English teaching system should be constructed to meet the needs of medical English learners by module-based teaching and adjustment of teaching contents,methods and language test.
