Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of HLA-G molecule in cervical cancer and its clinical signifcance.
Methods Postoperative pathological samples of 98 patients with cervical cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2006 to December 2011 were detected by immunohistochemical method (S-P method), and the relationship between HLA-G and clinico-pathological characteristics in cervical cancer was analyzed.
Results The positive expression rate of HLA-G in cervical cancer was 43.9% (43/98),while no positive expression was found in normal tissues. The expression of HLA-G was correlated with lymphatic metastasis and vascular invasion (
P< 0.01).
Conclusion Expression of HLA-G in cervical cancer tissues is signifcantly higher than that in normal tissues and it relates to the invasive growth of cervical cancer. It is also suggested that HLA-G molecule is closely related to immune evasion which will also promote the development of tumor.
