Abstract:
Objective To establish the standards for specially permitted physical examination of overage pilots by studying the distribution of diseases in them.
Methods Clinical data about 118 specially permitted overage pilots adm itted to our hospital from 2008 to 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.
Results Physical examination showed no abnormality in 40.7% pilots. The top 10 diseases detected in physical examination were hyperlipem ia, fatty liver, gallbladder polyp, carotid artery arteriosclerosis, hepatic cyst, cyst of kidney, thyroid nodule, lacunar cerebral infarction, hyperuricem ia and gallstone. The health condition of 97.5% pilots accorded with the physical examination criteria. Three pilots were grounded due to hypertension, carotid artery arteriosclerosis and pituitary tumor.
Conclusion The fying time of most pilots with their fying age reached the peak can be prolonged according to the fndings in their physical examination. Attention should be paid to metabolic, digestive and cardio-cerebrovascular diseases in physical examination.
