Abstract:
Objective To provide reference data for aero-medical by analyzing the vertigo disease spectrum of military pilots.
Methods Clinical data about 47 pilots with vertigo admitted to Air Force General Hospital of PLA from October 2012 to June 2014 were collected and analyzed, the constitution rate of disease caused by vertigo, age distribution and the fying conclusion were observed.
Results The top 5 diseases of pilots with vertigo were benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) (36.17%), migrainous vertigo (8.51%), sensorineural hearing loss (8.51%), subjective dizziness (6.38%) and acoustic neuroma (4.26%). Pilots with the age of 30 to 39 years accounted for 70.21% of all pilots unqualifed for fying.
Conclusion BPPV is the main diseases of military pilots with vertigo, and attention should be paid to migrainous vertigo and subjective dizziness.
