Abstract:
Pelvic fracture is one of the most challenging fractures for orthopaedic and trauma surgeons, mechanisms of injury mainly include motor vehicle collisions and falls from a great height. Because of the involvement of multiple mechanisms, complex pelvic fractures are difficult to be treated. Precise tentative diagnosis is the basis of the correct treatment for pelvic fractures and it also plays a significant role in the further treatment plan. Up to now, dozens of pelvic fracture classifications have been set up with different bases and applying conditions, still there has no such kind of classification that can fully reflect and account for all the information about pelvic fracture. As the development of science and medical concepts, some new classifications continue to be set up constantly. Following is a review of the present pelvic fracture classifications established in different periods.
