Abstract:
Objective To analyze whether there are differences in the quantitative measurement analysis of the healthy person's bilateral temporomandibular joint(TMJ).
Methods Thirty-six(72 sides)healthy person's TMJ were scanned by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT), bilateral curved planar reformation was made through sagittal position, condylar position parallelled to the long axis, and condylar incline which was perpendicular to the long axis, the indicators of the bilateral TMJ structure was measured and analyzed with two paired sample t test.
Results The radius values of the bilateral TMJ measurement showed statistical significance right radius value(51.97±2.61)vs left radius value(52.96±3.25);
P<0.05, while the others had no statistically significant difference.
Conclusion Some measured indicators, except the radius value, can be used for the judgement of osseous structural consistency in healthy person's bilateral temporomandibular joint, which can provide some references for the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders(TMD).
