Abstract:
Cervical vertebral fusion is an important method to treat cervical degenerative diseases. Due to high complication rate, autologous bone graft is gradually eliminated, while the appearance of interbody fusion cages has greatly increased the success rate of this procedure. From titanium metal to PEEK, absorbable materials, threaded structures to box-type structures, and titanium plate to zero-profile solutions, the development of fusion cage design has resulted in gradual increases in fusion speed and fusion efficiency. This article reviews the history and advances of cervical interbody fusion cage.
