Abstract: The medical staffs of US have accumulated vast experiences in treating cerebral gunshot wounds(CGSW) in recent years. In this paper, we review recent published articles about CGSW in America, including the experiences in Operation Iraqi Freedom(OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom(OEF). The epidemiology, pathophysiology, battlefield rescue, medical evacuation and surgical management of CGSW are summarized, so as to help our staff understanding and managing CGSW.
