Abstract: Objective To provide evidence for the development of Journal of Chinese PLA Medical School by analyzing the major bibliometric indexes of papers published in it from 2014 to 2018. Methods The total cited frequency,foundation-supported papers,average number of citations,cited rate,total overall assessment score and the impact factor (IF) of the journal from 2015 to 2019 were comparatively analyzed according to Chinese S&T Journal Citation Reports core edition from 2015 through 2019,and those indexes were compared with those of Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University and Journal of Third Military Medical University. Results The total cited frequency showed an increasing trend with a growth rate of 22.15%.Except for foundation-supported papers showing a decreasing trend,other indices showed ups and downs,but overall increasing trends.Except the red point factor and the average number of citations,there was a certain gap in other indexes between Journal of Chinese PLA Medical School and Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University,Journal of Third Military Medical University. Conclusion During these five years,the different bibliometric indexes of our journal show that we have achieved long-term sustainable development,while the changes of some indexes tell us about the subject development orientation.
