Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical effects of radiofrequency ablation in treatment of sebaceous cyst under a medical magnifier. Methods A total of 64 cases suffering from sebaceous cyst were treated in the first medical center of Chinese PLA General Hospital.For the location of sebaceous cyst,42 cases were on the face (4 on the nasal and labial region,4 on the forehead,5 on the temporal region,14 on the cheek,2 on the jaw or chin and 13 on the periocular region),2 cases were on the head,12 cases were on the torso (6 on the neck,5 on the chest and 1 case on the back),and 8 cases were on the limbs (5 on the upper limbs and 3 on the lower limbs).The diameter of cyst ranged from 0.2 to 2.9cm,while the incision length was 0.5-3mm without suture.These cases were followed up for 6-60 months. Results Of the 64 cases,59 (92.2%) cases were completely cured by single visit treatment,while 5 (7.8%) cases were treated twice.Based on the follow-up data,the cure rate was 98.4%.Sixty cases were cured without visible scar,and 4 cases had tiny scar. Conclusion Treating sebaceous cyst with the radiofrequency ablation is effective,precise and safe.It is a good option for sebaceous cysts on the face,head,palpebrae or arthrosis.
