Abstract: With the rapid development of ophthalmology and optometry in recent years, more and more students graduating from ophthalmology and optometry are engaged in ophthalmic examination technology. They have relatively rich knowledge of optometry but weak clinical knowledge of ophthalmology, therefore, exploration of ideas for the clinical training of ophthalmic examination technology can help the students graduating from ophthalmology and optometry to become skilled technicians in ophthalmic examination as soon as possible. Based on the experience in clinical teaching practice, the methods and key points for the clinical training of ophthalmic examination technology for the students graduating from ophthalmology and optometry are summarized as follows: first, enhance the special inspection techniques of ophthalmology and optometry based on the strong theoretical basis of ophthalmology and optometry; second, gradually standardize and master the operation specifications of ophthalmic inspection equipment; third, the training process follows the principles of starting with easy techniques and putting noninvasive techniques before invasive techniques; finally, after comprehensive training, precise training targeting a specific skill is performed to achieve one specialty with multiple abilities. At the same time, we also emphasize the cultivation of humanistic spirit and doctor-patient communication ability.
